Eligible Repairs

 

The following is a list of some of the types of repairs that will qualify for funding under Project HELP IV, but other repairs not listed may also qualify:

  • Plumbing-Sewer Emergency Repairs, Gas and Water Leaks, etc.
  • Water-Main Emergency Repairs
  • Roof and/or Windows
  • Boiler Replacement/Conversions
  • Lead Paint Abatement
  • Kitchen and/or Bathroom Repairs
  • Damaged Walls and Ceilings Replacement
  • Handicap-Accessible Bathroom/Kitchen/Entranceways
  • Handicap-Accessible Entry and Egress, including Widening/Staircase Accessibility
  • Sidewalk Repairs and/or Outdoor Ramps (Subject to all Applicable Permits)

Conditional Loan Terms:

Funding is provided under Project HELP IV in the form of a conditional mortgage that is placed on the property for ten (10) years. The owner of the property must continuously occupy at least one unit of the property as a primary residence during the 10 year term of the loan. No repayment is required unless the property is sold or refinanced during the term of the conditional loan. Repayment in full (100% of the loan amount) will be required at point of sale or cash-out refinance prior to the sixth (6th) anniversary of the closing date. As of the sixth (6th) anniversary of the closing date, the loan amount owed will be reduced yearly by 20% (1/5th of the loan amount) until year ten (10).
